Bob Farrington is SLC's New Economic Development Director

(KCPW News) Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker is tapping the Executive Director of the Downtown Alliance to be his new Economic Development Director. Bob Farrington has been with the Alliance since 1992 and also oversaw Downtown Rising. One of his goals is to improve relationships between small businesses and residential communities.

"I think in the neighborhoods, making sure that we really understand and honor and cherish these great local businesses and business districts that we have, and eliminate whatever friction their might be between the neighbors and businesses, because the reason that many of us live in Salt Lake as opposed to elsewhere is because of these great local business districts," said Farrington.

Farrington also said the city doesn't have the hotel capacity to maximize tourist venues like the Salt Palace. Listen to today's announcement at Tony Caputo's below.
