Replacing Roads Could Cost $1 Billion in Next 5 Years
(KCPW News) Utah's system of highways and freeways is the lifeline to the state's economic growth. These vital arteries carry workers, services, goods, and tourists throughout the state. But the majority of the state's infrastructure is nearing the end of its lifespan. Over the next five years, UDOT estimates it could cost more than $1billion to replace Utah's aging system of highways and freeways. KCPW's Elizabeth Ziegler has the story.
The Innovate-80 Project starts tomorrow at 9 p.m. The Highland Drive Bridge should be in place by Sunday morning. The new overpass should be traffic-ready this fall.
