Governor Issues Agenda for Special Session

(KCPW News) Governor Jon Huntsman Junior has issued the official agenda for legislators to consider when they meet in special session this Wednesday. The nine items include several technical fixes to the state budget and a bill that will let staff from the legislature and governor's office to double-check calculations by the State Tax Commission.

Huntsman also instructs lawmakers to consider spending $2 million on emergency dental services for Medicaid patients and up to $15 million on a parking structure at the State Capitol Complex. Other items include a cost of living adjustment for certain executive officers, a change to reporting requirements for the exchange of securities and legislation to assist retail establishments as they implement the lower food sales-tax approved during the 2006 General Session.
