Wasatch Hollow Neighborhood Considers Extra Rules
(KCPW News) The controversial ordinance banning so-called monster homes in some Salt Lake City council isn't enough for many residents of the Wasatch Hollow neighborhood. Their community council is considering putting even more strict limitations on homeowners looking to remodel or rebuild in the neighborhood around 17th East and 17th South. Tomorrow the community council will vote on a plan to decrease the maximum height of new roofs and walls, and require garages to be built off the road.Opposing sides of the plan are papering the community with flyers. Wasatch Hollow Community Council Chair Dan Jensen says the Salt Lake City Council will only accept a zoning change proposal if it is supported by an overwhelming majority of the community. Wednesday's meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Anderson Foothill Library.
