Western Hunting and Conservation Expo Announced

(KCPW News) First the Winter Olympics, and now this...Salt Lake City will host the Western Hunting and Conservation Expo next January. The event features 500 exhibitors, outfitters and sporting goods manufacturers, but the main attraction will be the chance to draw one of 200 once-in-a-lifetime trophy-hunt permits. Money raised from the draw will be used to fund big-game conservation projects in Utah. In addition to the permit draw, rare hunting tags for areas all over the Western U.S. will be auctioned, with prices expected to reach up to 250 thousand dollars per tag. The four-day convention is expected to draw 30 thousand hunters and bring 10 million dollars into the state, and is scheduled to take place each year in Salt Lake City for the next five years.
