Experts Say Utah's 3rd District Republican Primary Is Poised To Take Center Stage

As the 2006 mid term elections inch closer and closer, many are looking for any indicator as to which way the country will go in November. One race attracting a lot of attention happened yesterday in California's 50th Congressional District.
Congressional Quarterly's Online Editor Bob Benenson tells KCPW's Bryan Schott that they're still looking for those elusive electoral tea leaves, and the primary election in Utah's 3rd district later this month is moving center stage nationally in this week's Election 2006 update:

Mr. Benenson is half correct in his assertion that immigration is an issue in the UT CD3 race between incumbent Cannon and challenger Jacob. The other issue is accountability and both resonated with rank and file voters at the GOP convention in Utah on May 13th.
State delegates voted in favor of Jacob by 52 to 49% at the convention.
