Undocumented Workers in John Jacob's Closet?
None by KCPW
"Not to my knowledge."
(KCPW News) The word is on the street... Tony Yapias, project coordinator for Proyecto Latino de Utah, is looking for undocumented workers formerly employed by third district republican candidate John Jacob to come forward and speak against the candidate. Jacob, a Utah County real estate developer, says the allegation is ridiculous."The work that I've done has not been building homes. I've never been on the side of actually doing the construction of the homes."
Yapias hopes to bring some perspective to the election. He says immigration is being used to scare voters away from more substantive issues.
KCPW will be airing a live debate between Jacob and Cannon on Monday, June 19th at 8:30 am. You can submit questions for the debate at our website KCPW.org.

In the Cannon - Jacob debate last Saturday, as widely reported in the media, Cannon flatly denied ever hiring illegals.
That is simply not true. All one has to do is see the last 5 paragraphs of this San Diego Union Tribune article dated March 31, 2005.
It would be nice if the on-air and print media reporters put Cannon's statement last Saturday into context for their audience and call him to task on the issue of integrity.
""Cannon, whose spirited defense of undocumented immigrants as a blessing for the U.S. economy and culture has won him honors from Latino rights organizations, waxed enthusiastic about his own experience in the marketplace of immigrant labor in Utah.
He talked about his decision to replace the roof of his house. The low estimate, he said, came from a contractor who "uses labor that I suspect is not here legally.""
