Corroon Still Wary of Stadium Funding

(KCPW News) Real Salt Lake and Sandy City are still intent on working out a funding plan to tap tax money for a soccer stadium near 94th South. The latest proposal appears to have Sandy City shouldering most of the biggest risk in paying for the arena. Salt Lake County to Mayor Peter Corroon says he's still wary, and thinks the public is too:"Whatever happens, it'll have to be something that I can stand up to the citizens and say 'This is a good deal for you,'" says Corron.
Last month, Corroon publicly rejected a proposal by the soccer team because it would jeopardize the county's pristine Triple A bond rating. Sandy officials say the new arrangement prevents that. Details of the proposal have not been released.
